| | This past weekend we went on a road trip to Kendall, NY. Where is Kendall you ask? Its about a 20 min drive west of Rochester. That's a bit far for a weekend...but it was a 5.5 hour drive through the farmlands of NY state to a quiet lake house right on the shores of Lake Ontario. We borrowed the house from Dan's family friend...we'd go back again just for the calm of being out of the city. Though there wasn't much else to do...I tried to identify plants on all the farm fields. We did see a lot of corn fields. Let's just say I wouldn't be a very good farmer.

Basically we rested, took in some sun, did some reading, flew a kite or two, ate lots of fresh produce, bbq'd, took a 1/2 day trip to Niagra Falls (US side), and played a game of Scrabble or two. I have to say one of the highlights was a come from behind win with the seven letter word "footsie"...I connected it to the board adding "s" to another word for a grand total of 86 for the one round!

This was probably the last "trip" of the summer...we have 3 weddings this month and I go back to school in 2 weeks! Geez this summer passed quickly.
