I've reached a new chapter...

This weekend marks a year of writing on this site.  Since then I have had a million and one invites to create a Facebook page, update my Friendster site, and countless other such "keep in touch" with your friends via the internet as opposed to my methods of choice: written letters, phone calls, and over a cup of coffee (or tea or hot chocolate or dessert - you can pick).

On Saturday, I turned 30 and I can't imagine life being so completely unique than it has been these last two weeks of my 20's.  I suppose most people would talk about the physical aging or the lack of ability/agility to do what we used to.  We might even talk about our changes toward being real adults: buying property, moving into the responsible phase of life, viewing "fellowship" from a different place, or valuing the relationships that have brought us to this moment in time.

So with that said - here are the things that drastically impacted my transition into my 30's:
* Two weeks before my birthday we went on a long awaited fishing trip with Alex & Mandy.  I think Dan has been waiting 3 years to be able to go fishing with Alex.  My pride and joy came from catching the biggest fish of the day - it was an 18 inch seabass! In the end we caught a ton of fish (that we could keep) probably 25 between Dan and me.  Though I think Dan caught 20 of those 25. Gee they were yummy!
* A week before my birthday I found out that I was nearly 24 weeks pregnant.  It was both an answer to many prayers and a shock to "how could I not know"! Nevertheless God always has a funny way of working in your life and I couldn't ask for a better way of things turning out...btw I'm due in mid-Feb.
* The weekend of my birthday Dan took me to Paris.  It was my first time in France...and Europe for that matter.  Stacey & Wilson joined us for the weekend full of crepes, pain au chocolat, walking through the sites, crepes, late night overstuffed dinners, figuring out the metro, crepes, onion soup, and countless ham & cheese on a baguette.  Both the company and the food were great! The city was amazing too!

I'm not sure if I'll keep up with writing here...but this year has been fun...here's to more ways of enjoying God's provision in my life, the blessing of family and friends and community, and all the unexpected twists and turns of life!

I can't wait to experience what's next...
